Maryvale Mill, Australia

The Maryvale pulp and paper mill in Gippsland, Victoria will be open on Christmas Day in 2010. In fact, any member of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union who refuse to "volunteer" to work on Christmas Day making photocopy paper will face prosecution and over $6,000 in fines for engaging in an "illegal strike." Not only will the mill workers be prevented from being with their families that day, people who live in the vicinity will be able to enjoy the scents of pulp processing as they gather around the Christmas tree.

Bah, humbug!
